Weer Community Needs and Values

People in our community used to accept the limitations to travel as a tax for the enriching experiences acquited during their trips. A good some felt underprepared when packing minimalistically out of personal values for less environmental impact. Others took the opposite swing and exchanged all earned air miles for maximum luggage allowance. And Yet there was a consensus that none of these approaches were convenient. Until one winter day, when Ting’s friend discovered the ease of renting a few items from a clothing rental shop in her visiting Amsterdam. She spread the word upon returning to home country Taiwan and others have tried it since…

Today, our adopters value conscious fashion consumption in the form of renting as the solution to their needs when it comes to:

  1. The convenience of travelling light

  2. Home decluttering and minimal personal waste

  3. Buying their items after trying them first, and better yet, accessing iconic luxury items at fraction of retail prices

  4. Fashion freedom

Our members already benefit from recent fashion industry innovations such as:

  • Durable materials allowing makers to extend garments’ life through repairs, recycling and upcycling

  • New materials pioneered for expansive fitting

  • Rental services added to retail, e-rental shops and even peer-to-peer rental services for categories spanning baby, functional, weather etc

  • New logistic infrastructure i.e. deliveries on foot, bikes et al.

Because members’ rental needs exceed their locality as they navigate travel destinations and experiences, Weer offers the platform for those seeking not only connections and shared experiences with like-minded renters, but convenient ways to access the rental services at the destinations they travel to.
